Before picture. Actually I wish I had a real before picture. This is after I removed a 2x4 partition that was put up at the head of the tub and the tile that was added around the tub to make it a "built in" tub and shower. The partition was built to contain a shower head as if it was a modern tub/shower unit. Unfortunately, the shower was just plaster and dry wall with tile. Not exactly water proof. The tiles were falling off and there was some dry rot around the shower head and faucets. Like all old house repair chores, my task to fix the tiles is leading to a bathroom remodel.... Sigh....
