This is the room with its first paint job. I painted the room with Eddie Bauer's Mercer Blue on the wall and Cattail on the ceiling. I saw it on a sample card and in a moment of weakness thought it would look good in the room. After I got it on the wall, I was not sure about the color in the room. One reason for second thoughts was that I decide to strip the woodwork rather than paint the trim. I was going to have to be stripped before I could repaint it anyway and once I started stripping I decided to go natural. I didn't like the blue against the wood. Fatso the cat is not sure either...

Ayers > The NE bedroom was a bedroom I had not touched since I moved in. It was a spare bedroom / guest room. This blue and white scheme was the previous owners color choice. One day I got an urge to redo the room.

These are the casement windows overlooking the roof and a small "closet". Bedroom door is out of the frame to the left.

Ayers > Another view. Each bedroom is tucked under the roof line so each room has a "head banger" in one corner.

Ayers > This is the opposite wall. I had noticed that there were vertical seams showing under the paint on this wall. I dug under the seam and discovered that not only had the wall paper been painted but also skim coated with some drywall texture. This is the stripping of that mess.

Notice the original paint colors on the wall. These were the colors that were applied directly to the plaster so it seems to have been the first paint on the wall. Also you can see where the original picture rail was inline with the top of the windows and door

Ayers > Wall with all the old wallpaper and texture removed. It's in pretty good shape.

Ayers > Close up of original colors. A lot of Bungalow enthusiasts will talk about original color. I don't know about you but to me that's a pretty ugly shade of green. It looks muted here but it was a pretty intense shade of green.

Ayers > Just another shot of some of the trim and doors that had been painted. One door has been already dippeed, stripped and refinished. The closet door is still painted as well as the trim.

Ayers > These are the double hung windows that are in the room. These are all painted as well. Some of the trim on the right has been removed for some repairs to the wall that meets the window wall.
