Ayers > This is a rough lay out of what I think the "original" floor plan of the house was. This is based on looking at the changes and where walls were added, etc.

Basically there was one long porch along the back of the house. I'm assuming that it was either open or screened in. Double French doors opened out onto the porch from the Dining room and from the extra room which I call the "office"
Ayers > This is a 3D rendering of the original layout. Due to the limitations of the program the detail are approximate but you get the idea.
Ayers > This is a rough floor plan of the current layout. The back porch has been subdivided into several rooms. There is a "sun room" which is a room off the dining room. There is a laundry room right off the kitchen and a small closet was formed in the lower right corner.

Windows have been installed along the back of the house enclosing the entire space. The quality of the widow installation is low so they will all need to fixed/updated so that there is not long term deterioration of the structure.

Bottom of the floor plan is south so that is where you get the best light. Sadly the closet gets the best morning light of the whole house.
Ayers > This is a 3D rendering of the Current layout. The Kitchen is very small and has suffered from a 70's update. I really need to do some thing about the kitchen to make it more functional. I also would like to open the kitchen to let more light in the space
Ayers > Idea 1: This is the first of three ideas to update the kitchen. All three plans keep the sun room but open the kitchen into the space that held the back porch. This will increase the space and increase the light.

This Plan basically opens the kitchen into the space taken by the laundry and closet. The office was removed and here is now a small laundry/pantry space. It creates a big open feel and room for casual living space breakfast nook

Plus: I get a nice laundry and pantry. Minus: I loose my office

Ayers > Idea 2: The same as idea 1 but I added a small porch on the corner of the house off the kitchen space. I saw this on another recently remodeled bungalow kitchen and really liked the idea. There is a set of double French doors and It really helps to bring the outside in

I keep my laundry room / pantry. I would probably put a breakfast nook between the porch area and the pantry. However there is not much light there and it looks at the neighborÂ’s wall
Ayers > This is a 3D rendering of idea Two.
Ayers > Idea 3: I keep the office but make it a bit smaller. There is a nook-ish type room off the kitchen with additional cabinetry and built in laundry. I can't draw it with this program but the idea was to add a built in breakfast nook in the area. As I mentioned before, this area gets the best morning light
