General Pictures of the downstairs portion of my bungalow. Since I celan the house for the Christmas holidays, I thought I better take some pictures
Another shot of the front door. This is taken from the opening that leads to the stair hall. One of my jobs that I wanted to do this last summer was to strip the front door. On closer inspection, I found that the door has been swapped aorund. The hinges were originally on the right and the knob on the left. If I strip it as is I'll end up with mulitple knob holes and hinge mortises. I'm not sure what I want to do at this point.
Here you can see the cove ceilings that grace the foyer, parlor and den. All of the original lath and plaster is intact in all the downstairs rooms. They were skim coated with a drywall material and "textured" so they don't have the smooth finish but still look pretty good. Only folks with that plaster eye can really notice. Each of the main rooms (parlor, foyer and den) once had ceiling fixtures that were removed.
