Here you can see where the tile was around the tub when the shower was in service. Basically the tile was glue onto the plaster walls. They were installed in a manner that I would call waterproof. There is not a lot of damage to the walls other than cosmetic that I've been able to find. I have not removed the tub yet so I don't know what I'll find behind it.
