Mt. Whitney '06 : Photo's of my July 2006 attempted hike to the summit of Mt. Whitney from the Whitney portal on the eastern side of the Sierras. I did not make the summit. To add insult to injury, I did not make is as far as my last attempt in 2000. In 2000, I made it to Trail Crest at 13,600'. This time I only made it to High Camp at 12,100'. The interesting tid bit which BarbaraAnn pointed out was that after my 2000 hike, I was in a serious car accident that put me in the hospital. In 2006 after my second Whitney hike, I again was in a car accident that put me in the hospital. Is the mountain trying to tell me something?

Maui '06 : May 2006 trip to Maui. Wailuku, Hana, Lahaina and Wailea. I get the dunce award for deleting about 12 pictures that I took of Wailuku and the raod to Hana as well as the 400 ft tall Waimoku Falls (with a walk through the bamboo forest) way cool but no pictures any more :-(

South West Bedroom : Renovation of the SW upstairs bedroom. It was pretty much un-touched since I moved in in 1999. I thought it was time I finally got around to dealing with the state of the bedroom. I removed multiple layers of wallpaper that had been painted between the layers, removed all the baseboards, picture rail and trim around the windows and stripped, refinished and the reinstalled all of it. The windows sashes were removed, stripped and refinshied on the inside and repaired on the outside. All the ropes were replaced, the weight pockets insulated and sealed and spring bronze weather stripping installed. All of the original hardware was stripped of paint and reinstalled. I funky 60's cheapo light fixture was replaced with a rejuvenation repoduction fixture.
